Social media: Use them wisely

Nowadays more and more businesses enter the world of social media. Although, this entrance for the most of the businesses is nothing but a waste of time and labor. Those who are responsible for the management of the social media platforms have to take a step back and before they open a Facebook or a Twitter or A LinkedIn account to wonder why they do it and what messages want to make clear to their customers. If the content you give to your customers isn’t useful or interesting it would be like you giving content to your dog! It won’t have no retribution to your business.

So before you upload something it is good to ask yourself some major questions like what value has that message, post, photo to my customer. Which action we hope to aspire? Is it related to our actions? If these questions have no answer then you have to restart your social media strategy and make a new plan.

Here are three tips to start your new strategy:

  • Tell your story. Talk about your upcoming projects. In which stage they are, and what you fight to produce. This action pushes other people that are working with same projects at the same  time, to get in touch with you.
  • Make questions to your audience. Team work is the best work. Through questions not only them but also you, will be able to find solutions and new ideas to find new content.
  • Mention your social activities. If a group of employees of your business represented you in a local seminar relevant with the activities of your business, upload it! Socialization is a very important part of the marketing and these platforms are just what you need to achieve it. Although you can dedicate a separate part of the platform to socialization in order for some to avoid it if they don’t find it necessary.

do smart cutbacks.

When the companies lower their budgets ,then they have to show creativity and inventiveness at the same time in order to use better their available money. Luckily, doing more stuff with less money doesn’t necessarily means that you will have less customers.

  • Instead of lowering the ratio of a TV commercial you might have invest on, think about moving from TV commercials to the less costly radio commercials without changing the ratio of the message.
  • Create different versions of your commercials which intended for different markets or sectors, instead of having a different commercial for every market.
  • Think about on line commercials, if you didn’t think about them already! For the reason that this mean of technology/communication has instant feedback in relative form with is hot or not right now, maybe now is the best time to experiment with the on line marketing and commercials in the social media, blogs, websites(banners).

  • Strategy first. Cutbacks in everybody without exception usually doesn’t  lead in positive results. You have to choose who’s deserve a cutback or if it is necessary to continue to an overall cutback you have to emphasize that cutback is to reach to a goal in order to accept that business move.
  • Focus on the best customers. As a business, employee or employer you have to know which customers are the best for you. Most of the times in businesses they’re customers that keep the business behind. The business at this point has to ‘”fire”  that kind of customers. Employers must focus on the customers that enjoy the services or the product of the business as it is. As a result the business won’t have to increase the productivity due to non-reason-demanding customers.
  • Keep things simple on your business. Observe the tasks which are useless or to complicated and judge if they worth it. If this is a ”yes” try to make them as simple as possible in order to return to you. Now, if this is a ”no” then abstract them. If you make them simple , it is very possible to save money and also to increase the pleasure both of the customer and also of your employees.

Supply and Demand.

We hear those two terms very often in our daily life but yet we don’t use them fully. Supply and demand is not only this:

From a theoretical perspective it might be this, but a business isn’t only theory. It is actions and practicality. Supply and demand in business means knowing people’s needs.

In simple words:
Supply and demand ->  Understanding human behavior.

Whatever your business is, it doesn’t matter if it is a sports store or a book store, if you’re doctor or even if you don’t own a store and you are a blogger or entrepreneur at your craft, you have to ask yourself what your customers or viewers need and want to have. What they need at this very moment and for the next five, ten years? You have to put yourself in their position, see from their perspective and find what they want and what they demand. Then find a way to supply it to them. Period .

“For example let’s say that you have a blog platform or an Instagram account from which you want to sell shoes. The only thing you have to do in a first place is to follow the rules of supply and demand. You have to put yourself in the customer’s point of view and think what would you like to have as a product. Next thing you have to do is to find out what the market – shoe market in this example- needs. What kind of shoes does people prefer at this very moment? Know your audience and adapt the trends and fashion details in their needs.”

Tip: “Always have a main idea of why you do what you do whether it is a product or a service. You have to know why you start a business or a blog or why you make shoes etc. Supply and demand is the tool to help you understand the market. Is the easiest way to find out what you need to do. “

It’s not accidental the fact that the biggest entrepreneurs like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs beside from having a strong WHY when they start their new ideas and businesses they also had a great perception about human behavior. They could understand what people-market needed. This is exactly what supply and demand is.

Out do yourself, Not the others.

Most of the times as human beings we are terribly greedy. We think we can do everything and beat who ever we want, but we don’t realize that the only competition that really exists is us.
As a manager or a businessman or an entrepreneur or a singer or anything else that you imagine yourself to be, you have to realize that happiness comes from self-improvement and not from your field’s competition. You have to outwork yourself first and then day by day, month by month, year by year you will realize that you will be top at your craft without competing anyone.
  • Managers:
And of course as a manager you have to do the exact same thing everyday:
‘’Wake up every morning and say: How can I make OUR company better today than it was yesterday? What can I do to improve OUR team? How can WE improve our product this month than the product we had the previous month?’’
“Make sure the work you’re producing is better than the work you produced before. You are your competition.
And once you realize that, it’s 100% that you will stay more in the game and find more joy from what you doing. Because joy doesn’t come by comparing your work with someone else’s work. It comes from self-advancement.

  • It’s ok to make mistakes!

The best way to experience life is by making your own choices and following your own path. You have to do what you really want to do without the fear of failure. YOUR BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH. No one is perfect ,just do your thing and stop making comparisons or listen to other people’s opinions about your moves. You are who you are and no one can change that. People do not owe anything that’s why you have to go and GRAB your dreams and your opportunities and trust me mistakes are just a part of the process.

  • Mistakes are essential for our growth both as personalities and as businessmen or businesswomen or entrepreneurs or whatever else you imagine yourself to be. Everyday we have to learn, grow, change, and start making better choices. Wrongs can be made right, and we can become our best self as we learn to be patient with ourselves.

Today I heard about an incident that most of y’all have heard. I’m referring to the partnership mistakes that usually end up to misunderstandings and fights.  Starting a business is not a walk in the park, especially when you want to include colleagues/co-founders in it.

The biggest mistake made by people ready to start their businesses is that first choose the idea and then who they will work with, but that decision could be vital for a business.

When you want to conclude another person to your idea you have to be sure that this person worth it. You have to be 100% sure about him and then you start a business or think of a new idea. And friends are not always the best colleagues. The person that you’re gonna work with must advocate the same values with you.
